Not only have these plates been specially engineered for dropping, but XMark also solved an industry-wide problem with 10-pound plates bending and breaking. To remedy the problem, XMark followed IWF standards and reduced the diameter or height of the plate and made it the same thickness as a 15-pound bumper. Now, the much-improved smaller diameter plate has stability.
Each plate consists of a solidly-built cast iron core encased in Premium All-Natural Virgin Rubber which gives the bumper a slim profile and a dead bounce. In addition, it also adds durability and will maintain the bold, solid color throughout the life of the plate, even if the surface becomes worn. An Olympic bar with 16.5-inch sleeves will hold 10 (ten) 45 lb plates and collars with room to spare. The precision-tooled stainless-steel inserts allow the plates to easily slide freely on the bar.
